In Treatment – business photoshoot

Hello fellow Blogreaders!

I recently photographed Anna Holeniewska – a successful coach and therapist, and privately a very nice and warm person. The goal was to present her as a trustworthy professionalist. After seeing the results of this photoshoot, my Muse said she could go to a therapist like this – achievement unlocked 🙂 For this photoshoot I made an improved version of my previous business lighting that I used for Michał Pasterski photos. I’ll tell you more about the lighting at the end of this post, as I usually do.
Ania was afraid she wouldn’t be a good model but, as it usually happens in such cases, her worries were completely unnecessary. The make up was made by dependable Justyna, and I took the photos in my favourite In2it Studio. This is what we made together, hope you like it:

John Galliano Make-Up

Hello fellow Blogreaders!
Recently I had a chance to photograph Magdalena Dziatkowiak-Stefaniak’s graduation work for Make-Up Academy Maestro in Poznań, entitled „John Galliano Make-Up”.

Magda’s info about the stylization:
Both the stylization and the make up are strongly inspired by Dior Fall/Winter 2009 collection, where Galliano harks back to Paul Poiret’s works – he was a French designer, creating in ’20s of XX century. In the collection there are Asian influences, as well as harem trousers, ornately decorated, or buckles from a traditional Chinese dress – quipao, paisley pattern, also called „peacock eye”, and ikat originated from Malaysia. In the collection there are also original headgears, elegant coats, and beautiful evening gowns made of chiffon and decorated with Indian appliques.
One of the more interesting stylizations that got my attention were draped harem trousers made of creme satin, paired with a light beige astrakhan fur vest. I used trousers made of a delicate satin-like fabric, and a fur vest.
Make ups and hairdos were also inspired by ’20s. The hair, pinned with tens of hairpins, made a sort of a helmet, imitating a short ’20s hairstyle. The eyes, strongly enhanced with dark eyeshadows, reflected after I World War mood. Eyebrows were long and thin, and lips enhanced with dark colours, painted in an almost heart shape. (Source) The model in this stylization was Marta Gajewska.

After the main stylization Magda created another make up on the second model, Diana Poschen.

Time to praise the whole team:
– great compliments for Magda for the stylization, hair and make up – everything was prepared perfectly!
– for the first time in front of the lens Marta Gajewska (she’s not THE Marta Gajewska :)) – I’m very nicely surprised with how natural she was, and what we made together in less than an hour!
– Diana told me that it was her portrait debut – and it was really hard for me to believe it.
– it’s very good to have an assistance when building such a big set, and this is the right time to thank Szymon from  In2it studio for his help – without you it would have taken me 3x more time!

Main stylization, model – Marta:

Hand. Cannot. Erase. part.II Visuals

Hello fellow Blogreaders!
Today a post that many of you have been waiting for. There was a little preview of it in my previous post, but only now, after the show in Łódź, I can officially show you what I’ve been working on for the last six months. All Steven Wilson’s fans know that his concerts are masterpieces, but on his current tour there is not only fantastic music, but also a great visual show. There is a 11x4m led screen behind the stage, helping the fans get into the story Wilson tells – it’s incredible! The tour began some time ago, and you can already find many concerts reviews, where the visualisations are warmly described. They are always just mentioned though, I’ll try to describe them with more details. My description will be based on the yesterday’s show in Łódź, hope you enjoy it.

The show begins with a few minutes long intro that changes seamlessly into ‘First Regret’ and ‘3 Years Older’. Directing and editing: Lasse Hoile, cinematography: Krzysztof Czechowski. Cast: Karolina Grzybowska, and in a couple of scenes me – in my role of a lifetime… I played an unloved boyfriend 🙂 All the pictures were taken in Poznań. Residential districts consisting of large blocks of flats were proudly represented by os. Orła Białego and os. Oświecenia. The tram scenes were taken in Pestka line, the dark station is the last stop on os. Sobieskiego. Other shots were taken near the Old Market Square, Plac Wolności, Marcinkowski Park and the Main Station.

Hand. Cannot. Erase. part.I

Hello fellow Blogreaders!
This is the first post concerning my newest project, one of the biggest projects I’ve ever realized. Since August 2014 I’ve been hard working as a part of a team responsible for the visual side of the new Steven Wilson’s solo album ‘Hand. Cannot. Erase.’. But first, a few words of inroduction. The album was inspired by a real history of a young woman named Joyce Carol Vincent, who, despite living a perfectly normal life, having social relations and a steady job, by her own choice decides to break off contacts with everyone. As a result of doing so, for 3 years nobody noticed that she died from asthma attack, left alone in her apartment…

Hello fellow Blogreaders!
Once again I’ve realized a lookbook for a young designer Marlena Czak. At the end of this post I’ll describe the lighting and meanwhile, a few words about the team.
The clothes were designed and sewn by Marlena Czak,
and hair and make up were done by Magdalena Drzymała.
The team was fantastic, we were having much fun, and I have a photo proof of that – at the end of this post you’ll find a joyful backstage shot.
